Life Academy is a non-profit Christian-based program to help young adults in Romania achieve independence through good stewardship of their limited resources and wise choices as to their future. Many young adults in Romania, both young men and young women, do not have a strong family background to guide them in educational or workplace decisions. There is little thought of working methodically towards a better future.
Many of the orphanages in Romania have not had the resources to effectively train young adults for the pressures of life after institutional care. Western groups have visited and encouraged these orphans but local professional help is needed to guide them effectively in the complex and fast-changing demands of the Romanian workplace. The program is staffed by trained professionals who have degrees in social work and, more importantly, have years of experience in working with the kind of challenges that face young adults in their specific culture.
We asked what Life Academy is to some of those that we have been able to work with throughout the years. Here are some of their responses.
